English French Phrase Translation - Tips You Can Learn From Two Service Providers
If you are looking for fast English French phrase translation online, you basically have two options. You can either use the free google language translation tool or you can go to a freelance website and pay for a translation service. If you have a real small budget, you may want to try Fiverr.com and pay $5 to turn any text up to 500 words from English to French or from French to English. This is not an English to French translation site, but it offers translation services in different languages. I’m a Fiverr.com fan and I use their services for my business quite often. The price is awesome and the delivery is fast. In most my cases the quality far outweighs the small price tag. I mean - for 5 bucks, what more can you ask? Of course I do my due diligence to check out the reference and track record. Also I set specific instructions and make sure the vendor understand what I want. It works pretty well for me so far. Ok, I’m not trying to give free advertising to the site here. I actually have a different point to make. Let’s take one of these vendors that offer French translation help for example: Mr. X offers English French phrase translation for 5 bucks as long as it’s under 300 words. His client feedback is impeccable and apparently he has a long waitlist of clients. Well that’s about the average rate on that site. When you think about it, it equals about 1.6 cents per word which is pretty low. I can’t see how he can make money on that unless he works incredibly fast. But I suspect most phrases are way under 300 words and it gives people the impression of value. In a separate instance, a little Flower shop opened up in my neighborhood. When I went in last week, I saw something very interesting. Among the deals they offer, one caught my attention. “If you purchase any of our special bouquets, we'll do an English French phrase translation for whatever message you want to send to the recipient for free." In case you don’t know - French is one of the official languages in Canada. I personally have had quite a few clients from the province of Quebec. It is always a friendly gesture to send a nice message in French. Most of these bouquets are above $50, and that's more than offset the translation cost. What can we learn from these two examples? Here we go: 1- Focus on value rather than price In the first instance, the services provided are basically English French phrase translation, With hundreds of competitors in that category, the only way for clients to tell them apart is by price and feedback. It’s not a total surprise, though, that most people go for the guy with median price but with almost perfect feedbacks. Clients are looking for quality as well, even at low price. I personally don’t like to use the word "translator". It doesn’t send any message of value at all. So it’s up to you to use another vehicle to combine with translation service. It can be your writing skills or a floral service. 2- Be different Setting yourself apart from the crowd is essential to the success of your business. I bet many flower shops sell greeting cards too, but few of them would provide additional translation services. But there’s obviously a need among the clients and this shop took the leadership and captured the market in that regard. Good for them. I know I will go back there for sure. 3- Make your clients feel special A thoughtful conversation, a little thank-you note or some convenient partnering services can all add some additional personal touch to what you sell. When used properly, you’ll attract more clients simply because people all love to feel special. Offering English French phrase translation services is common, but providing that for consumers' convenience is priceless. __________________________________ Want more tips to get quality translation jobs and high paying clients?
