Easter Basket Ideas To Attract High Paying Clients

So it’s Easter again. Have an Easter basket to make?

You may already have a few Easter basket ideas in mind for your favorite clients. Whether it’s a common practice for you to gift your major clients or you are just thinking about doing so, Easter is a great opportunity for client attraction.

>

But if you want your business gifts to be well received and appreciated you need to remember a few important things:

1- Always create a budget

It costs money to buy gifts, even just a card. When you have limited funds and there are hundreds of other things to be taken care of, it’s a tough decision. That’s why you need a budget.

Let’s put it this way – you don’t have to gift your clients at all. But to show your appreciation and to make yourself stand out from the competition, you need to do something differently.

So make sure you don’t take business gifting as a task. Instead, it’s a kind gesture to say thank you to the clients that give you consistent work load; are high paying or simply have made your life easier and business better.

Now wouldn’t that deserve some recognition? Your money should be spent on the top few clients or referrals that have improved your business.

For that purpose, your Easter basket ideas should translate that gratefulness. Let your recipients know that the appreciation is from the bottom of your heart.

For clients that are picky, grouchy, unreasonable and low balling your service, you have to learn to let them go by giving them little attention if you haven’t already turned them down.

Don’t be afraid to take your stand.( You don't have to be rude, just politely refer them to someone else.)

Believe it or not, after I started to trim my client list, my business actually grew.

2- Avoid gifts that may send an intimate message

Before you gather all your Easter basket ideas, make sure you don’t include items that may cause misunderstandings or awkward reactions.

You can make your gift personalized, but keep everything professional. When you do that, you’ll save yourself so much trouble in future.

On the other hand, if you’ve received a gift from your client that might carry ambiguous message, stay calm. Respond professionally and do not try to ask for clarification.

Often when you ignore an inappropriate message, the sender will get it. But if you are offended by any message, do take your stand and let the person know your feelings.

3- Do not appear desperate for business

Never send a gift to your past client because that way you will appear desperate for his/her business.

You can send a letter or a card to say hi for the Easter holiday and let this person know how you are doing and that you’d like to catch up with things sometime in the near future over lunch or coffee.

But don’t bother when you have nothing new to offer – new idea, new service or new product to offer.

4- Be aware of food allergy

Easter basket ideas are largely about food items, especially sweets. Make sure you know all the food allergies of the gift recipients before you prepare anything.

You should also be aware that some people have certain types of dietary restrictions.

Also try to avoid any possible cultural misunderstandings. You can always ask a friend or do your own research before you send your Easter gifts.

This information will have to be carefully considered in order to get a positive response from the recipients.

5- A personal thank you letter or a card is the best

As I said before it is the appreciation perceived by the recipients that actually counts when you give a gift. So whatever Easter basket ideas you have, always include a personal thank you letter or a card that sends the message you want your clients to know.

Other things you can include are- some news clippings or articles from a paper or magazine that are relevant to your clients’ situation or problems.

Something that will make them pause and think – hmmm, this person truly cares about me and my business.

Now that is the art of business gifting.
