How To Write Business Thank You Notes That Work Wonders
I don’t know about you, but for me writing business thank you notes has been an important part of my practice. It has brought me many loyal clients and referrals over and over again. It’s a common sense that without our clients, we’ll be having no business. So showing appreciation at every opportunity possible is a great way to tell people you care. When you make your clients and potential clients feel special and appreciated, they’ll remember you. The difference between thank you notes and thank you letters is that the former is shorter and more informal. While there’s nothing wrong with writing a formal business thank you letter, it takes much more time and effort in putting them together. As a freelancer/ home business owner you need to consider your ROI over your time spent. Here are a few tips to make your business thank you notes work wonders: 1- You have to be sincere Your appreciation will only be cherished if you mean it and say it from the bottom of your heart. These notes don’t have to be long, but you need to put some real thoughts and personal touches into them. That’s how you make the recipients feel special. When your sincerity shines through your notes you’ve just achieved your goal of writing business thank you notes. 2- Use some nicely designed stationary I love specialty stationary. They look neat and cute. People tend to elevate their opinion of the sender when they receive a letter/note on a specialty stationary paper. Carefully selected stationary also tells people that you put some effort and thoughts into your notes. How can anyone forget you if your thank you notes are so unforgettable? 3- Be consistent and be timely Writing thank you notes can be a powerful marketing strategy to attract and keep loyal clients if you know how. But like many other marketing tools, it has to be used with consistency and in a timely manner. Keep a note of all the things you need to thank for. Try to send out a note or two every day. When you make it a habit, you’ll find it easier to do. 4- Try to handwrite your business thank you notes Too many people these days overly rely on email communication. Simply put it this way, it’s soooo easy to just click the mouse, but it takes time, effort and careful thoughts to put a handwritten note together. As it happens easy way often is not the most effective way. So if you truly want to express your appreciation to someone, write a nice handwritten note. Your recipient will notice the difference and your hard work will get paid off eventually. If you don’t like your handwriting, then type a simply letter and then add a handwritten sentence or two under the letter. But remember your signature definitely needs to be handwritten. Business thank you notes can be used almost for every occasion. Nothing is too small or too big for a sincere thank you note. Let’s face it - you don’t have to do it and most people don’t do it. But it sets you apart from your competitors. So when can you write business thank you notes? Here are a few examples: 1- When someone did a favour to you 2- When someone made a kind gesture to you 3- When someone made a referral to you 4- When someone paid for your service on time 5- When someone gave you a good idea 6- When someone gave you some kind and thoughtful comments 7- When someone gave you some constructive criticism 8- When someone came back to you for more business
